Going Japanesa with Thomas Sabo

THOMAS SABO's Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection has gone all Asian on us.   'Pop goes Asia' unites the symbol-rich world of the Far East with influences from more than 3,500 years of high Asian culture, urban dandyism and Kung Fu fighters.  Wow, what a mix but we like it.  Panda Power!!

No Regrets by Stephen Webster

'No Regrets they only hurt' a once famous singer sang...  But Stephen Webster would have something to say about that.  No Regrets is part of his new men’s silver collection Alchemy in the UK

Taking inspiration from the British Punk Rock era, Alchemy in the UK reflects on iconic record covers, fanzines and fliers from the 1970’s and 1980’s punk music scene.

“By depicting the union jack flag using rose gold, black rhodium and silver studs we put a twist on a British punk rock reference.  Never straying far from the music, we turned to the icons of the punk era to create the latest in our line of men’s collections.  It’s been exciting for us to watch the popularity of men’s jewellery grow and we’re always proud of how well received our men’s lines have been over the past 10 years,” comments Creative Director, Stephen Webster.

Well we tip our bowler hat to you Stephen.  Another job well done sir.

Go on, go on, go on Gurhan

During a jewellery event at the Harrods Penthouse, we were introduced to Gurhan (Twitter - @gurhanjewelry).  They make the most exquisite cuff links which are now sold all over the world.  However, what we were most suprised about was that Gurhan originated from Ankara, Turkey. So our love affair for Turkish jewellers goes on, and on.

A poll is being conducted to find the best men's fashion blog.  Please, our loyal and fabulous readers, go to Solosso and place a vote for Maketh-The-Man (make sure and vote for the correct one i.e. with the dashes, as there is another cheeky blogger with almost the same name).  Thank you in advance!

Make us a train set necklace Inderjeet Sandhu

We first meet Inderjeet Sandhu during London Jewellery week, and since then he has appeared in Indian Vogue as well as many other publications.  He creates eye catching, statement jewellery, sculptured in a way that they feel like mechanical parts.  Hmmm how I wonder what he could do with a Hornby train set.

We welcome Atelier Minyon (soon)

New York jeweller's do excite us, and after our latest visit to the states, and subsequently to Turkey we were delighted to hear about Atelier Minyon (Twitter - @AtelierMinyon).  They are a family company based in Ankara, Turkey, and have now opened a magical Turkish inspired store in New York. Atelier fuses Turkish classical history with a modern wild twist using black diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds.  Check them out now, as they are coming to the UK soon, and its always good to stay ahead of the pack.

We have found our Mrs. Miyagi with Zoe Harding

Maketh-The-Man went back to jewellery basic's lately and enrolled with the London Jewellery School.  Our mentor for the day was the one and only Zoe Harding.  Zoe has designed for the likes of Vivienne Westwood and created many fabulous orb and skull accessories like the skull galaxy ring above.  She has now gone solo, and is still creating wonderful pieces like the Antler necklace which we want so bad.
