Vogues Fashion Big Night Out

On the 8th of September Vogue's Fashion Big Night Out hit the streets.  Check out our report for British Style Bloggers now.

Coach knows how to accessorize

During Vogue's Fashion Night out in London, we were lucky enough to be invited to Coach's opening party.  It was a celeb filled event with Gwyneth Paltrow, Gemma Kidd, David Gandy, Pixie Geldof, Nick Grimshaw, and Tulisa Contostavlos attending.  Check out our pics of the night on our facebook page.

Coach was founded in New  York in 1941, and was originally a men's leather goods company, crafting baseball gloves that were strong but soft to touch.  Through the years they have carried on this tradition and now have a portfolio of bags, belts, wallets, and shoes.

With the opening of their new London store this month, they have brought classic high-quality american style to the UK.  We are particularly loving the bike bags, and with the every popular 'boris bike' hitting the London streets, this is an accessory must have for any Londoner.

One week to go until #LFW menswear day

There are only a couple of days until the launch of London Fashion Week (Twitter - @LondonFashionWk).  This means it's exactly one week until MENSWEAR DAY, the most exciting day for men in the UK (or it should be).

We will be in attendance at all the catwalk shows live from Somerset House (Twitter - @SomersetHouse), soaking up the atmosphere, fashion, and general amazingness.  For the lucky few, look out for our BUG BANGLES, that we will be giving away to the the most fabulous followers of male fashion.  More details on these to follow.

Pebbles does jewellery differently

In our global search for amazing jewellery shops, one from my nations capital introduced itself. Pebbles  (Twitter - @pebblesjeweller) is tucked away on Jeffrey Street in Edinburgh, and offers beautiful jewellery to those lucky enough to grace its store.  Distinctive and different is how Kevin and Val describe their stock, as they allow emerging designers to have the opportunity to be showcased.  Something that we salute at Maketh-The-Man.

Pebbles is Scotland's only stockist of Bjorg jewellery, which we have featured previously.  So it was with great delight that on my visit to the store, we were fitted for a rather sinister but beautiful Bjorg invertebrate ring.  The attention to detail, customer service and after sales can only be described as excellent and something that other stores should follow when looking for a best in class example of how to run a store.

For those keen to see the ring, check out our Facebook page.  For anyone that's in Edinburgh, go check out the store.

Lets move it with Michael Berger

RK DG-10

RK 022-4BRs

RK 042-1
Michael Berger likes to move it. I like to move it.  You like to move it, move it... Michael makes kinetic rings using fine metals from his London or German workshop.  Harnessing the power of movement into wearable pieces is something that watch makers have been doing for some time.  However, bringing typically static rings to life is a whole other matter.   We salute you Mr Berger. Good job, well done, now move it and send us one of those RK DG-10's.
