London Collections Men - The Outtakes

London Collections Men finally hit our streets this weekend.  During 15th to 17th of June 2012 London's most fabulously dressed men came out in the droves to celebrate the inaugural menswear event.  The Hospital Club took center stage and was home base for the majority of the action.  With brands such as Matthew Miller, Oliver Spencer, Katie Eary, James Long and Barrtmans & Siegel all showing it was a weekend to remember.  For more of our outtake pictures of the weekend, check out Maketh-The-Mans Facebook page.

Coming Up Roses with Woodstock Film Festival, Diesel, and iD Magazine

Woodstock Film Festival, Diesel, and iD Magazine joined forces last night for a world first.  At the Curzon Mayfair cinema, they introduced indie movie 'Coming Up Roses' starring Hollywood A-list Bernadette Peters, and newbie Rachel Brosnahan.  The eccentric mix of attendees from movie, fashion and music were entertained with cheese and wine followed by an introduction from Tricia Jones, Executive Director of iD.  Then as an added bonus the director Lisa Albright talked her through the auto-biographical nature of the movie, and her career change from West End Showbiz to the Big Screen.  Special thanks has to go to Meira Blaustein from the Woodstock Film Festival for comparring on the night as well.

Sneak peak at Reiss AW 2012

What does The Great Gatsby, Boardwalk Empire and The Stranger have in common?  Well if it was a new movie, we would be very excited!  However, these style cues can be found in Reiss's new menswear collection for Autumn / Winter 2012 which makes us very excited indeed!   As their Menswear Director said about their new collection:

“Unapologetically stylish, creating a collection that finds modernity in tradition – future proof” It’s about right clothes- right place- right time”
James Spreckley – Menswear Director, Reiss
So what does this mean for you?  Well more bow ties, pocket squares, manbags, and also hats! More details to follow about this beautiful collection, and its classic accessories, so watch this space.

Love for Kirk Originals

You know I own a pair but I just love the concept behind Kirk Originals! The design, the colour and the thought behind every piece is just so fashion forward thinking.  They hosted a party tonight with Boo Hewerdine and Brooks Williams playing some classics, whilst we tried on all the frames.

PUMA By HUSSEIN CHALAYAN

PUMA by Hussein Chalayan explores the velocity of wind and flight for SS12. Inspired by sailing and kite flying, the collection demonstrates how industrial details and dynamics can transform traditional outerwear.

The apparel fuses classic shapes with the modern and technical details seen in athletic sport apparel. The footwear design is distinct, clean and methodical, capturing the interplay of sport, motion and speed through lightweight materials and minimal yet supportive constructions. The final touches seen in the accessories are inspired by the tradition of colour used in Japanese Kabuki theatre. The reds and violets take the collection to new heights, perfect for the summer months and reflect the pace of everyday life.
