Harrods announces Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Spectacular

Harrods has removed its iconic green canopies to make way for ornate, golden frames showcasing 31 crowns designed exclusively for Harrods by the world’s leading brands in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Drawing on inspiration from Harrods decorations for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, the Knightsbridge store’s façade is lined with Union Flags and two 50-ft tall regal banners heralding the Queen’s Royal Cypher and St. Edwards Crown.

Harrods employees have also been seen filling the pavement outside the 160-year-old store for a roaring rendition of God Save the Queen and Land of Hope and Glory, whilst waving British flags.  Harrods will occasionally broadcast God Save the Queen from the store’s Brompton Road facade throughout the Jubilee celebrations.

Alongside lots of Jubilee celebrations instore, The Pet Kingdom will be offering special Jubilee treatments for patriotic pooches. Dogs will depart with a Union Jack bow and Union Jack cupcake.  Woof woof indeed!

Eye popping cuff-links for the Diamond Jubilee from Deakin & Francis

British based Jewellery manufacturers Deakin & Francis (Twitter - @cufflinks1786) find an alternative way to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.  With this historic milestone they have created a limited edition design, of which only 12 pairs of cufflinks will be made to mark 2012, the year of the Jubilee.

The cufflinks are made from 18ct white gold and plenty of diamonds. However, they wouldn’t be Deakin & Francis cufflinks without their trademark twist. The cufflinks are based on the original Deakin & Francis skull design cufflinks and with opening jaws and popping diamond eyes (0.16cts), they are truly unique. Sporting a purple velvet and diamond-encrusted crown (a further 0.24cts) even Prince Philip would be proud to own a pair.

Each pair will be marked with the official Diamond Jubilee hallmark, which shows Queen Elizabeth in a diamond surround All this for a reasonable £8,575.00, and available direct from Deakin & Francis website or Harrods.

Also available from the Deakin & Francis limited edition Diamond Jubilee range are silver skull & crown cufflinks and silver crown cufflinks set with rubies & sapphires.
