Tom Davies is a Wizard

There are many famous Tom's in the world.  Tom Jones, Tom & Jerry, and now Tom Davies (Twitter - @tdtomdavies).  Mr Davies is the only frame designer worldwide who offers a bespoke frame made to measure service.

Born out of his desire to revolutionise spectacle wearing, Tom produces frames that are truly bespoke, using an individuals measurements, face shape, colouring and personality to produce one off, luxury, frames for his couture clients.

He also offers a ready to wear collection, which now include Transitional lenses.  So the eye-wear geeks out there would want to know that:

'Using the most technically advanced, patented photochromic dyes, imbibing processes and trans-bonding techniques, Transitions and Tom Davies are offering a new perspective on spectacle wearing'

I'm not so sure what this means either, but basically the lenses change colour if you are in bright sunlight, and then change back again if you are not.  Wizardry now comes in a lens!

Kirk Originals celebrates 'Beam'

Last night saw Maketh-The-Man hit the party scene with our favourite eyewear brand, Kirk Originals, to celebrate the anniversary of their flagship London store.  As part of the fun times, Jason Kirk was also in attendance to showcase his new collection 'Beam'.

'To celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2012, we wanted to launch something really special.  'Beam is unique, combining technical advancement with aesthetic beauty and made entirely from acrylic.' Jason Kirk

Basically, they are shiny and available in multiple colours so like the magpies that we are at Maketh-The-Man, we just got to have some!  Which pair do you think we suited the most?

I have been looking for a pair of new glasses for sometime.  Basically, whilst driving my D&G's slipped off my face and out of the window.  They were gone forever, sad times!  So the hunt began for some new spectacles.

Well luckily for a modern day dandy, there is a great selection out there.  However, it wasn't until lately that we were introduced to Kirk Originals (Twitter - @kirkoriginals).  These quirky but cool eye accessories not only come in a variety of classic frames but they also have an array of fabulous colours.  The Kinetic collection includes lenticular images along the side of the frames, which produces a moving image whilst in different light. It's a little like magic, and we love them.

The clever chap behind Kirk's, Mr Jason Kirk, has just opened a flagship store in London, so go down and check it out.  As Jason says about the store, 'it provides  a unique experience and ensures everyone leaves with a pair of  Kirk Originals glasses that makes them look and feel fabulous’.
